Battersea and Wandsworth Chiropractors are extremely fortunate to be one of the few clinics in the Clapham, Battersea, Wandsworth and rest of SW11 area to have the latest in digital xray technology. Xrays are taken to check patients’ postures, detect any bony changes in the spine, pelvis and extremities.
Digital x-rays are images that can instantly be recorded onto a computer screen which means we no longer need to have physical x-rays films to be produced and then viewed on a lightbox. The image detail is extremely clear and the exposure times are reduced massively.
What are the costs?
Battersea and Wandsworth Chiropractors offer the latest in x-ray technology and are competitively priced. X-rays are £22 each film. If you wish to take a copy, they can be burned on to a CD and will cost £10.
Do you require a referral letter from a GP or practitioner to take x-rays?
Yes, always. X-rays are either taken for our current patients or for clinics and surgeries who do not have the x-rays facilities to take them in-house. X-rays will only be recommended when necessary after a referral from our Chiropractors or your Primary health practitioner eg. GCC, HCPC or GMC registered.
Who would not receive xrays?
Babies and children under 16 year’s old and pregnant women.
Who takes the x-rays at Battersea and Wandsworth Chiropractors?
All of our chiropractors are registered and comply with the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2000 and follow the Employer’s Procedures of Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2000 and are qualified to take, read and diagnose xrays.
What are the risks?
As with other medical procedures, x-rays are safe when used judiciously. Our chiropractors have been trained to use the minimum amount of radiation necessary to obtain the desired results. Properly conducted imaging, carries minimal risks and are only performed when clinically indicated. The amount of radiation used in most examinations is very small and the benefits outweigh the risk of harm.
X-rays are produced only when a switch is momentarily turned on. As with visible light, no radiation remains after the switch is turned off and shielding protects sensitive body parts. All our equipment is regularly inspected.
Ask your health practitioner to call us on 020 7228 7822 or firstname.lastname@example.org for further details about our x-ray services.
