Shoulder pain can be located from the collar bone (clavicle), the glenohumeral (GH), acromioclavicular(AC) joints or the scapula. It can be a chronic condition related to bad posture or following a sudden trauma or sports injury.

Shoulder pain is commonly caused from an imbalance of the muscles attaching and supporting the joint and if left untreated, can cause chronic pain and disability in the shoulder region. Pain can also be referred from the neck or from the heart or gall bladder.

Your Chiropractor will assess you in order to work out the potential cause of your shoulder pain and establish whether it’s a cause they can help resolve. Management usually consists of manipulation to improve the function, alignment and flexibility of the spine and other joints. Massage helps release muscle tension and restore correct movement patterns. Exercises will be given to stabilise any problem areas and other advice such as altered movement patterns, posture and lifestyle changes will be given to increase the rate of recovery.
